Exercise modification is a necessity. I do a lot of workouts and treat people that suffer from injuries that they sustain from doing them sometimes.
Let’s be honest, we cannot all do EVERY move exactly like the perfect, 22 year old trainer!! It just is NOT going to happen. And don’t kid yourself, as we age, we accumulate injuries. As a result, we must be mindful and train with sensibility and modify to meet our biomechanical needs! Knees, shoulders and backs are some of the top areas of injury thus modification for these specific regions should always be considered. Just because you are pain free now, does not mean that once you fatigue your muscles during a workout, that you will remain that way. It is what it is.
